What does the free online SEO audit check?

A technical audit doesn't answer whether you rank high on Google. It answers the earlier question: can search engines and AI models read this page correctly. It's the foundation — without it, the rest of your visibility work runs at half strength.

The analysis covers three areas, scored separately:

Why GEO gets its own score here: more and more queries end with a model's answer instead of a click on a result. A page can be fine for Google and still invisible to AI — these are two different sets of requirements, and it's worth knowing both.

How to read your website SEO analysis results

You get an overall score and three sub-scores, followed by a “where to start” list — ordered by the severity of the problem, not by where it appears in the code. Every item can be expanded: we show the measured value, the expected value, and a specific recommendation.

A separate tab contains the raw data from the fetch: HTTP response code, redirects, time to first byte, code weight, server headers. It's material for anyone who wants to verify our conclusions instead of taking them on faith.

Technical audit or visibility audit — which should you choose?

These are two different diagnoses, and they're easy to confuse. A site can be technically flawless and still not generate any calls, because it loses on rankings or has no Google Business Profile. The opposite happens too: a business is visible, while its website loses part of its traffic to errors nobody has checked.

If you're looking for the latter — check the visibility audit in Google and AI. Doing both makes the most sense: visibility first, so you know where you stand, then the technical audit on pages that get real traffic.

Frequently asked questions

Is this SEO audit free?
Yes. Analyzing a single URL is free and requires no sign-up or email address. We show the result right on screen — we don't email it and we don't save your contact details.
What exactly does the technical audit check?
We fetch the page the way a search engine crawler does and check three areas: classic SEO (title, description, headings, canonical, structured data, ALT text, linking), GEO — meaning readiness for AI answers (robots.txt, llms.txt, ChatGPT and Perplexity bot access, answer structure) — and Google Ads readiness (content consistency with the keyword, CTA, trust signals).
How does a technical audit differ from a visibility audit?
A technical audit answers the question "is this page built correctly?" A visibility audit answers the question "can customers find you?" — it checks Google rankings, the state of your profile, and AI citations. These are two different diagnoses: a page can be technically flawless and still invisible, and the other way around.
How many pages can I check?
In a single report you can compare up to 5 pages, each with its own keyword — you get a comparison table, a shared priority list and one link to share. The tool is limited to a number of requests per hour so it stays available to everyone. If you want to monitor your whole site on an ongoing basis, that's what a Sempuls account is for, free for 14 days.
Does the audit result replace a specialist's work?
The audit shows measured values and tells you what to do about them — it doesn't guess. You can fix most of the issues it points out yourself in your site's dashboard. For complex implementations (restructuring, migration) it's worth having someone help, but you don't need a twelve-month contract for that.
